MoFA attestation verifies signatures and seals; it does not replace the receiving authority’s decision to accept the document. Requirements depend on the issuing country, document type and available UAE mission services. Check the current country-specific route before paying for translations or sending originals. A scanned copy, a notarised copy and an original digital document may be treated differently.

Common questions
Are attestation and legal translation the same service?
No. They address different requirements. Ask the receiving authority which is required and whether a particular order is necessary.
Can every scanned document use digital attestation?
No. MoFA’s digital route has eligibility requirements. A scan of a paper document is not automatically an eligible digital original.
Does attestation guarantee acceptance for a visa or court case?
No. The recipient can have additional requirements concerning the document’s purpose, age, language, content or format.
